About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Expert Software Developer to join our dynamic technology team in Santiago, Chile. In this role, you will take a leading part in developing, enhancing, and maintaining our advanced business application web solutions.

You will play a critical role across the full development lifecycle — from designing and implementing new features, through rigorous testing and deployment, to maintaining and optimizing our existing systems. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-impact, mission-critical systems at the core of our organization’s success.

As part of a global team, excellent English proficiency (written and spoken) is essential for daily communication and collaboration.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of new features and functionalities using Java and relevant technologies.
  • Oversee all stages of the software development lifecycle, from concept to deployment.
  • Review, modify, and maintain existing code to improve performance, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Troubleshoot and debug complex issues, providing innovative solutions to ensure a smooth user experience.
  • Manage databases and data models, ensuring seamless data integration and efficient query performance.
  • Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing within the team.
  • Advocate for and implement software development best practices, including version control, code reviews, and testing methodologies.
  • Ensure secure development practices, addressing authentication, SSO, authorization, and vulnerability management.

Requirements

Knowledge and Experience 

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science from a leading institution or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on Java web applications and a wide range of technologies.
  • Advanced proficiency in Java and related frameworks (Spring, Hibernate), with deep knowledge of the J2EE platform.
  • In-depth understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
  • Proven experience in designing solutions of varying complexity, applying cross-system features, functionalities, and technologies.
  • Expertise in web technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX.
  • Extensive experience with databases and SQL (MSSQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (Jenkins).
  • Solid experience in RESTful API development.
  • Understanding of security requirements and solutions, including authentication, SSO, and system vulnerabilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a global company and multicultural environment.
  • Excellent English proficiency — this is a must for both written and verbal communication.
