About the role

Surecomp is seeking a motivated and talented Junior Software Engineer / Data Engineer Student to join our R&D team. This role is ideal for a student who is passionate about software development, eager to learn, and ready to contribute to real-world projects. The intern will work closely with our senior engineers and other team members to support various software development tasks and gain hands-on experience in the field.

What will you do?

As a Junior Software engineering student, you'll dive into the core of software development, focusing on the development, testing, and maintenance of innovative applications. Your role will involve writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code, contributing to robust and scalable solutions.

You'll collaborate with senior engineers and team members to design and implement new features, actively participating in code reviews and enhancing our codebase. Tackling software defects and issues will hone your problem-solving skills.

In addition, you'll create and maintain technical documentation, learning and applying best practices in software development and agile methodologies. This internship is a unique opportunity to grow, innovate, and make a meaningful impact on global trade finance solutions.

Requirements

Knowledge and Experience

  • Currently enrolled in at least the third year of a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field with an average grade of 85 and higher.
  • Knowledge of or experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
  • Knowledge of web development technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, React).
  • Familiarity with databases and SQL, NoSQL.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Understanding of software testing and quality assurance practices.
  • Prior experience with software development projects or internships- Mandatory.

Skills

  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new tools and technologies.
  • Strong work ethic, Proactive, Self-motivated, and Results-driven.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team on multiple running projects, with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality code.
  • Proficient in spoken and written English.
