About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on Finance manager to join us and oversee all finance activities in Germany, while also leading selected finance projects across international subsidiaries.
The Finance manager is a senior officer in Germany, with local signatory rights, and plays a key role in both regional operations and the broader global finance leadership structure.
This is a managerial position with two direct reports, reporting directly to the Global CFO. The role follows a hybrid work model, with at least three days per week in the Hamburg office.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Oversee all financial activities in Germany, including revenue, expenses, reporting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Act as a member of the local site management team and contribute to operational and strategic discussions.
- Participate in the global Finance leadership forum and support cross-border financial alignment.
- Lead and execute cross-company financial initiatives and improvement projects.
- Serve as the main finance point of contact with local authorities, auditors, tax advisors, legal consultants, vendors, and customers.
- Partner with senior leaders across Commercial, Product, R&D, and Operations on financial planning, budgeting, and performance analysis.
- Drive financial processes, controls, and KPIs to support scalable growth and operational excellence.
Requirements
Knowledge and Experience
- 7 to 15 years of progressive experience in Finance, with at least several years in a leadership or managerial capacity.
- Experience in a technology, software, SaaS, or fintech environment.
- Strong knowledge of accounting, tax, financial reporting, and business principles.
- Proven experience as a hands-on finance leader who combines strategic thinking with operational execution.
- Ability to deep dive into daily financial activities and resolve complex accounting or reporting issues.
- Solid experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Hands-on experience managing year-end audits and working with external auditors.
- Fluent German and English, both written and spoken.
Advantages
- CPA/Bilanzbuchhalter qualification - an advantage.
- Strong SaaS-related knowledge, including management reporting, metrics, analysis, and KPIs such as ARR, LTV, CAC, and recurring versus non-recurring revenue.
- Experience building and executing a SaaS-based business model and related applications.
- Experience working with NetSuite.
- Experience with CRM, billing, and payment gateway applications such as Salesforce.
